I went to my doctor's office yesterday (a place I've been visiting way too frequently for my liking) as a monthly follow-up regarding my diet and weight-loss program. And while my weight-loss is going very well and I have been feeling pretty good in general, not everything is peaches and cream. I hadn't been feeling especially great for about a week or so and I hate to say this; but I think it has to do with another kidney stone.
Yep, that was my diagnosis before I even stepped inside my doctor's office. It was my diagnosis last month too when I experienced similar symptoms for a week to ten days. Achy back, frequent urination, general abdominial discomfort, etc. I've been there enough times before to know the deal. I've also had CAT Scans and X-rays and know that I had TWO of those little guys taking up residence in my right kidney....and only one has vacated the premises that I know of. Even I can do the math on that one. So although Stony may be gone...his little sister Pebbles was left behind.
So, here I am...kinda back at square one where I was last year when I made my trip to the emergency room and was sent home with pain meds and a muscle relaxer to try to just 'pass' them. Apparently easier said than done.
I think I've been pretty darn patient really. The problem now is that my niece's wedding is coming up on September 13th....in Wisconsin. All of my kids and I are going to it. We're all driving there from here in Illinois. Well, Jory and Jesse are flying directly there from CA; but Jen, Dan, Julie, Joe and I are driving down the day before. You can imagine how much I DO NOT want to be bothered by any kidney stone problem during that time. I have been looking forward to this wedding and spending it together with all of my kids and my relatives....I would hate for anything to ruin it.
I can only hope that the whole situation is over and done with by that time. I hope Pebbles decides to leave the premises NOW and be done with it. I'm ready! I've got my meds...my water....my heating pad....and the bathroom is very nearby.....keep your fingers crossed! ~Joy xo
Oh, kidney stones are terrible! I hope you feel better soon.

Well, bastardizing a little Shakespeare ...out, out damn pebble!" or even worse, a wish from the bible. .. "This too shall pass." Please forgive my silliness, my dear friend. You have my sincere thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted on your progress.

Bloody kidney stone. Cross your fingers and spit as my Nana used to say, that it leaves you before 13 September.

Joy, the ability to keep your sense of humor in the face of pain is just wonderful. I would send a rock crusher to pulverize pebble if I could figure out how to get them together.
I hope you can enjoy the entire trip without complications. I am sending healing thoughts your way.

Joy,
I will keep you in my thoughts and pray that Pebbles decides to leave just like Stony did.
Maybe Pebbles is smaller and will leave sooner....

Joy
Has your doctor not suggested Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) for kidney stones.

Just a suggestion.
Do some research and let me know if this has been helpful to you.

Dear Joy ~~ I am so sorry you have another kidney stone. Did you check out the address that Bear gave you. I have had 3 lots of this treatment (We just call it Lithotripsy here)I had epidural anesthetic each time and I don't like those but the pieces of stones passed painlessly,
I do hope you are able to go to your niece's wedding and that you all have a wonderful time. Take care. Much Love, Merle.
