Well, here they are…my 'two minutes and two ounces apart' duo. My ‘two for one deal’….and what a deal it was. Julie Ellyn and Jory Anne…..
They’ll be having a birthday this Saturday, June 16th. My cards are in the mail. They’ll be celebrating with friends and family…each in their own way. I haven’t been able to celebrate their birthday with them for quite a while. That’s the problem with living far away from one another; I have to trust that others will heartily celebrate with them. We’ve had some pretty wonderful parties for these two through the years….from all kinds of house parties to big bashes at the YWCA and on the shores of Lake Michigan.
I could tell you of all the wonderful accomplishments they’ve achieved in their lives…past, present and even future, but we all have those stellar stories to tell….and besides neither one would be comfortable with that. I could tell you how beautifully busy my life was when they were growing up and involved in everything under the sun, as they happily took me along for the ride. I could tell you that when I spend time with them these days I cherish every minute and no matter what I do, I still see those two little dimpled faces in pigtails as I’m transported back to a time that defines me as a mother and without a doubt the person that I am today. I could tell you all of that….
But what I will tell you is how very proud I am of these two ladies and the beautiful people they have turned out to be. I couldn’t be prouder of their character, their work ethic and their compassion with which they treat people in their lives. I couldn’t ask for more honesty, authenticity and sense of fairness from two people if I had hand-picked them myself. I have watched in wonder as they have guided their lives to the place that they are in now. I have watched hard decisions made by each of them and have beamed with joy at their drive and determination….and their successes.
I am grateful to have them in my life and for what they share with me, and how eager they are to share it. They both bring something different to the table…but yet so much the same. I can only expect more of the same as I go along for the rest of the ride.
Happy Happy Birthday my Sweethearts Two……'I kiss your dimples'…..

Happy, happy, happy to Julie and Jory. They are really beautiful. Your gemini twins. :)

Hi Joy! You're wonderful mother as this reflects on your daughters' face. There's the song, "Mrs Brown you've got a (two) lovely daughter(s)"...I'll sing that to you.

Joy, today I mailed our birthday card for Jory. We are so glad that one of your wonderful daughters is now our daughter-in-law!
Arnie and I congratulate you on raising these amazing young ladies! My only disappointment was that you didn't include a picture of them as you described them--little dimpled faces in pigtails!
Love,
Elizabeth

Joy, your daughters give new meaning to being “doubly blessed.” And Gemini, too. What an adventure it must have been watching them grow into lovely young women.

You must be so unbelievably proud of your twins. And surely how well they've turned out is a reflection of the mothering they had along the way.
