It seems police in Buffalo, NY stopped a guy for a traffic violation that led to animal cruelty charges after they found a live cat “marinating” in oil and peppers in the trunk of his car.
Officers heard the cat meowing when they stopped a 51-year-old man to ticket him for running a stop sign.
The officers checked the trunk and found 4-year-old Navarro in a cage, his fur covered with oil, crushed red peppers and chili peppers.
Police say the man told them he did it because Navarro was ill-tempered. He was charged with cruelty…and Navarro has been put up for adoption.
Either this guy is just pure mean and hateful or plain stupid. Justice would be for him to ‘marinate’ in his own juices in a jail cell somewhere.
Another feline faux pas….
What are some people thinking?
A live tiger cub was drugged and hidden among stuffed-tiger toys in the bag of a woman at Bangkok’s airport, according to a wildlife smuggling watchdog group. (Who apparently watch for these things all the time.)
The woman was trying to board a flight to Iran when she had a little trouble checking in her oversized bag, the wildlife monitoring group said.
Airport staff suspected “something amiss when they scanned the bag and x-ray images showed an item resembling a real cat.”
I have all kinds of questions running through my head on this one. Where did she find a tiger cub…and why did she need it? Why was she trying to smuggle it into Iran….was there some kind of shortage? Didn’t she stop to think of the danger to the cub from being enclosed in a bag all that time….drugged or not? And…why are some people so blatantly stupid?
I have no idea what the punishment could be for this; but this woman clearly needs a battery of psychological tests done on her.
Too hot to handle….
Everyone loves a challenge at sometime in their lives; but this would NEVER be on my bucket list of ‘things to do.’
A Russian man trying to win the Sauna World Championships died after collapsing with severe burns in the final stage of an event that required contestants to sit in a 230-degree room as water was tossed onto a searing stove. (Yep, 230-degrees…you read that right. What possible good could that be to ANYBODY’S body?)
VL (using his initials only), who was an amateur wrestler and in his 60’s (yikes, my age), died after he collapsed alongside the reigning champion in the final round. (Some contests should just be done away with….and this should be one of them before any more brains are fried.)
Around 1,000 spectators were there in the town of Heinola, Finland to watch 130 competitors from 15 countries vie for the title. All were waving flags and cheering before medical workers pulled the shaking and bleeding men out of the sauna.
And after that....a little levity.....(Click on pics to enlarge)
