Those are just too great! I can't imagine the hours of planning needed for creations like these. And eat them? I don't think I could put a knife in one of them.

I sometimes watch the cake decorating shows too, but not with any regularity.

Those are some great cakes. I'd have a hard time cutting into any one of them.

I love the books.

I like watching Ace of Cakes. They make some extraordinary edible art. I would find it hard to cut into one of these, but also wonder if they taste as good as they look.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Making cake shows? You guys have way too much choice on TV. Some of these cakes are divine, but the teeth one? I don't think I'd like someone to give me that one unless I'd just become a dentist.

As Homer Simpson would put it, "Umm, frosting!" What I cannot resist are frosting roses on birthday cake!

Joy,

I love to watch those cake decorating shows, too.

It's when they have them all finished and then they have to MOVE them that I get very nervous.

Last year on TV they showed the White House Pastry Chef finishing the Christmas cake which was an exact replica of the White House. He had it all done in the kitchen and then had to figure out the best way to get it up to the East Room where it was to be on display.

There were a lot of steps and no elevator if he went one way and only 5 steps if he took it around to a different door of the White House. So, they put it in his station wagon outside of the kitchen door and drove it around to the door closest to the East Room and hand carried it up the five steps, then transferred it to a rolling cart and went the rest of the way.Only one window broke.

It was fun to watch and very interesting....

Yes, what can be done with eggs, flour, sugar and fondant is not to be believed. Love the cakes!

These things should be in a museum! I bet you could buy a car for what they must cost. Okay, a small car. Personally, I’m a cookie fan. Now show me a cake that looks like a cookie and step aside!
