Everyone knows I LOVE HALLOWEEN! It's always been a big deal in our house...even now when there's noone but me to share in the festivities. I still get all excited by the trick-or-treaters. And, I still buy way too much candy. I'll never learn that lesson; but that's just one of many lessons I'll never learn.
One Halloween lesson I've learned is that I'm moving my car this year. Last year one of my windows got smashed in by some Halloween hooligans. I don't necessarily think it will happen again, but I'm not taking any chances with my new Prius. I'm parking it elsewhere. Last year could have been a 'freak' incident....when these kids drove through our village and randomly went up and down streets and smashed in windows just for the fun of it........not my type of fun, I guess. It's these kinds of moments that can sour anyone any turn us all into MAXINES! EEEEK!
Oh for the days when I was making those crazy homemade costumes. One year Jory and Julie were a pair of dice (I guess that would be die, wouldn't it?) They were entombed in boxes with holes for their arms and heads and wore decorated paper plates for their hats. It took me forever to cut out circles for all of the sides of their die. I think Jenna was Snoopy and Joe was a clown. Then there was the year the twins were Lipton tea bags. It's really rare to see a child come to the door in a homemade costume anymore. Oh how I miss those days.
