Halloween just isn’t the same anymore. I’ve been bummed-out over the small amount of trick or treaters we’ve gotten for the past several years…if we get 10 kids…it’s a lot. It could just be where I live, but I seriously doubt it; although I know some neighborhoods get a lot more kids…like we use to. I’ve always felt that neighborhoods go through generational changes through the years that usually cycle back around eventually. When we moved into our home, there seemed to be a lot of kids in the neighborhood; and Halloween was a very busy time. As my kids grew-up and out of their costume-wearing days, our neighborhood seemed to have fewer and fewer small children running around. Then I noticed a resurgence of kids again a few years ago; but I wasn’t seeing the turnout at Halloween like I thought I would. I always have so much candy left over…not a good thing for me. I buy gobs of candy, hoping we’ll see more kids. So far, I’ve been let down.
