No Late Fees...No Movies!
This will be a small rant, I promise. Is it just me, but has anyone noticed that ever since Blockbuster initiated their "No Late Fees" policy....there are also NO MOVIES? At least not of the newest arrivals...even if there is a whole wall of them. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to get a new movie that had come in several days earlier...and POOF, none to be had. I try a few days in a row sometimes...not back yet. It happens ALL THE TIME. I am a HUGE movie fan, like most of us; and I almost NEVER return movies late....even with this new policy. I just don't feel right keeping them longer than I should. Apparently not everyone feels that way, or I've just got REALLY bad timing. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate not having to pay a fee if you're a day or even two days late returning a movie, but when it gets longer than that...there's a problem. I just wonder if this new policy is ALL that Blockbuster hoped it would be. I've had friends say the same thing. I think there is some kind of guideline they follow if someone keeps movies TOO long...probably send them a bill for it....I'm not sure. All I know is that it's frustrating. Like I said, maybe it's just me. -Joy

You could always drink the Netflix Koolaid, Mom. Though the issue there is that some of the movies are sometimes scratched up. Still, we haven't had any problems getting movies.

I second the Jory's Netflix recommendation. They also have a larger selection of movies.

Hate to sound like the Netflix Greek chorus, but we just started using them...and we have a Blockbuster two blocks from our house. We walked in there one night and I thought the same thing, "WHERE ARE ALL THE GOOD MOVIES?!" I have to admit that our first film from Netflix arrived cracked and broken, but they got us a replacement disc quickly.
